PLAN THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS EVENT
Award Winning Event Expert Liz Taylor Presents at Whirlowbrook Hall
On 26th September, Whirlowbrook Hall will play host to the award-winning event planning expert, Liz Taylor, where in a two-hour complimentary afternoon masterclass at the Sheffield venue, Liz will unveil her secrets to planning a successful festive event.
In association with the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Vine Hotels, Liz Taylor will show businesses and event planners how they can push the boundaries of event planning, embrace theatrical production and retain a focus on that all-important attention to detail. The result: to deliver an event so unique that guests will be discussing it until next Christmas.
Liz Taylor is founder and MD of award-winning event planners, The Taylor Lynn Corporation, and has the production of hundreds of successful and memorable events under her belt. This includes planning business events and celebrations for clients such as AIG, Minster Law, ITV, Coronation Street, UEFA, BGL, plus a host of sports stars, music icons, celebrities – and one or two more Royal clients. Her experience makes Liz the perfect host, in an afternoon where she opens her little black book of party secrets, shares anecdotes of her successful events and offers tips and advice needed to help guests with their own festive planning.
Guests will arrive at noon and will be immediately immersed in the festive spirit, treated to an array of Christmas canapes and refreshments. Following will be Liz Taylor’s presentation and an opportunity for the audience to take part in a Q&A session with Liz. Guests can then enjoy informal networking and a light lunch, based on the delicious Christmas party menus designed by Whirlowbrook Hall Head Chef, Alex Fretwell.
This is a complimentary event and therefore places are limited so early booking is essential. To book call Lucy Plummer on 0114 236 6142 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Garin Davies, CEO at Vine Hotels comments:
‘Liz Taylor is unrivalled in the field of event planning and so we are honoured to have her speak at our Christmas Event Planning event. We know that all of our guests will take away valuable pointers and we look forward to hosting some of the best Christmas parties in Sheffield in December!’
Liz Taylor, founder and MD of the Taylor Lynn Corporation adds:
‘Whilst Christmas celebrations are brilliant fun for guests, the planners can spend a fraught few months making sure every little detail is perfect.’
‘As well as sharing stories around some of the events that I have planned in the last 30 years, and one or two of my more colourful clients, I’m hoping that guests attending the Whirlowbrook Hall event will take away some invaluable tips to help make their own festive events a huge success.’

Meet at ‘Number 10’ with the Launch of The Cabinet Rooms
Taking a seat at the conference table of Number 10 has suddenly become a lot less about your Brexit ‘camp’ or manifesto promises, and much more about bringing great minds together, as The Lion Quays Hotel & Spa, Oswestry in Shropshire, has taken inspiration from the home of British political power for the transformation of its ‘Cabinet Rooms’ conference centre.
The development has created four new meeting rooms – The Cabinet Room, Westminster Room, Number 10 and Number 11, and means that the venue now boasts a capacity of up to 122 delegates for meetings and training sessions, plus it offers an additional large banqueting suite that is suitable for meetings of up to 400 delegates.
The renovated ‘Cabinet Rooms’ are located in a dedicated business zone of the Hotel and each offers a unique interior design that pays homage to the Westminster corridors of power. All are tastefully decorated in contemporary furnishings with lots of natural daylight, a wall mounted television and presentation technology, conference call facilities as well as Wi Fi and complimentary stationery, plus delegates can make use of the fun ‘Sweet Cabinet’ – offering a choice of teas/coffees, popcorn, slush and a variety of retro pick and mix! The Cabinet Room itself has a specific breakout space with breath taking views of the surrounding countryside.
The Hotel offers all delegates bespoke menus for business dinners and banquets as well as four star luxury facilities with 82 en-suite bedrooms, bar and multiple restaurants including waterside dining. A top-end country club and spa is purposefully located at the opposite side of the Hotel from the meeting rooms, eliminating any potential disruption to the creative business thinking of its conference guests, whist ensuring a Zen-like ambience for leisure users. Substantial grounds are available for team building experiences.
Colin Jenno, general manager from Lion Quays said: “We have experienced a steady growth in our conference clients and, as such, we wanted to take our facilities to the next level. Whether it’s a high-level summit meeting or a brainstorm meeting with the ‘front bench’ team, our ‘Cabinet Rooms’ offer a new dimension to conference facilities in Shropshire. The top-notch level of amenities means that our clients want for nothing during their stay with us, and coupled with the fact that we can now cater for events from just 2 delegates to up to 400 means that we are suited to companies of all sizes.”
Colin added: “The contemporary colourways give the rooms the perfect ambience no matter what vital top level talks are taking place and the natural daylight is of course a welcome bonus. We have the added advantage of being located within 45 mins of Shrewsbury, Chester, Wales and Manchester with excellent local train and motorway connections, and yet, the surrounding countryside ensures that clients can also include any outbound activities in their itineraries.”
